Vegan, Gluten-Free and Vegetarian: Inclusive Caribbean Cooking
There is a particular loneliness in being the person at the table who cannot eat anything. We built Rain Eatery so that person never has to be a Rain Eatery guest.
Caribbean food is already plant-rich
Here is a happy secret: a great deal of Caribbean cooking is naturally plant-based. Callaloo, curried channa and aloo, pelau built on peas and rice, stewed pumpkin, fried plantain, dhal, roasted breadfruit — these are not concessions to vegans, they are cornerstones of the cuisine. Our vegetarian and vegan menu is not an afterthought bolted onto a meat-centric list; it grows straight out of the tradition.
Gluten-free without the guesswork
Many of our dishes are naturally gluten-free — rice-based plates, curries, grilled and fresh seafood. Where a dish is not, we label it clearly and, wherever possible, offer a way to make it so. You should never have to interrogate a server or gamble on your dinner. We do that work for you.
No one should be left out of a good meal — that belief shapes every section of our menu.
Flavour is the whole point
Inclusive cooking fails when it tastes like restriction. Ours does not, because we start from flavour and work outward. A vegan curry gets the same homemade green seasoning, the same toasted spices, the same care as anything else on the pass. The goal is a plate a committed carnivore would happily order — that just happens to be vegan.
How to order with confidence
Every menu carries clear labels for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, and our team knows the kitchen well enough to guide a table through any combination of needs. Dining with a mixed group? That is our favourite kind of table. Tell us what everyone needs and we will make sure the whole party eats — and eats well — together.
A table for everyone
When you dine with us, you dine with family. And in our family, everyone gets fed. That is not marketing; it is the practical, day-to-day design of how we cook.
Please always inform your server of allergies. While we label and accommodate carefully, our kitchen handles seafood, gluten and other allergens, and we cannot guarantee a fully allergen-free environment.
